Powell River is located on mainland British Columbia, 124 km (77 miles) northwest of Vancouver on the Upper Sunshine Coast. The city (population 13,000) lies east of Vancouver Island, just across the Strait of Georgia from the cities of Courtenay and Comox.
 
 NEW IN 2019!  Presenting sponsor BC Ferries has made two busses with discounted fares available to PRISMA students travelling to and from Powell River in June.
 
Students are requested to take advantage of this offer.


$110 Bus Round Trip (no hostel stay)


$55 Bus One Way (no hostel stay)
 
 
Itinerary:
June 15: Arrive in Vancouver before midnight
June 16: Board bus to Powell River at 8:00 am.; arrive around 2:00 pm.
June 30: Board bus to Vancouver at 1:00 pm.
July 1: Make your way to Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and home. 
 
Cost and Details:
2 nights’ accommodation plus two bus and ferry round-trip tickets: $200 CDN ($150 US / €130).  This does not include meals.  For those of you who will not require accommodation in Vancouver the cost of return bus and ferry is $110.

If it is impossible for you to arrive in Vancouver on June 15 there is the option of flying to Powell River with Pacific Coastal Airlines on June 16, and back to Vancouver on June 30.
